True to form - MB&F is Max Büsser & Friends after all - this timepiece is the result of a collaboration between the brand and esteemed fellow independent watchmaker, Kari Voutilainen. Combining the spirit of traditional watchmaking and aesthetics, Kari Voutilainen’s expertise, with the creative fervor of MB&F, the LM101 feels like it could easily slide smoothly into settings a century ago or a century in the future. And that’s an intentional effect. The entire Legacy Machine line is supposed to represent the fusion of the best aspects of traditional watchmaking with an avant-garde twist.
Overall, this LM101’s traditional side rests in the movement construction, its Côtes de Genève, as well as the hand-engraved script on the dial. While, the flying balance wheel at the center of the dial and the high-domed sapphire crystal add significant modern flair.
For anyone familiar with MB&F, the LM101 represents the most easily wearable watch in the brand’s collection - a 40mm case with relatively traditional shape. It’s traditional, yet futuristic look makes this watch fit well into both casual and formal occasions.
This example is in mint condition under warranty from January 2020 and worn by the original owner four times before parting ways with it. Available as a full set with box and papers.
