For sale is this mint 95%+ condition Grand Seiko quartz model SBGT037. This is a Japan domestic market release and features the legendary caliber 9F83 day/date high end quartz movement. This watch is exquisite in details and execution. It features a hand polished stainless steel case using the "Zaratsu" technique that insure a distortion free reflection on the surfaces of the metal. The bracelet is also made in stainless steel and each solid link is made up 5 separate components!. Each link is held by two 1.5mm screws and an inner metal pin. The links are exquisitely brushed with an inner polished section. The watch has a beautiful dial that is completely finished by hand. Deep black dial with polished applied markers, bi-leveled dauphine hands with brushed and polished finishes. The hands in this model are long and heavy as they are the same exact hand specification used in mechanical and Spring Drive Grand Seikos. The movement in this watch is assembled by hand. Seiko harvests and specially "cherry" picks the quartz crystals that go into each new Grand Seiko quartz watch. Each crystal is subjected to a 3 month testing period and only those crystals that meet the "Grand Seiko" standard are mounted onto the movements. The watch has an accuracy rating of -/+ 10 seconds per year and it is thermocompensated. Its accuracy has been more in the -/+ 5 second per year range!. The movement is vacuum sealed and it is fully serviceable. Its service intervals are 50 years with the only requirement of replacing the battery every 3 years. The watch has a AR coated (on the inside) sapphire crystal, day/date display in Kanji and English that is guaranteed to change between 1200 and 1205 AM. Not only that but the calendar only takes 1/2000th of a second to change as it is mechanically actuated. Its got a signed "GS" non-screw down crown, solid screw down case back with engraved Grand Seiko lion logo. Engraved "GS" solid clasp. The watch is extremely comfortable to wear thanks to its 37mm by 10mm thick case and only 135g of weight. Elegant and sophisticated. The finest quartz watch in the world today.
The watch has been worn very sporadically as part of my rotation.
Watch comes complete with boxes, instruction manual (Japanese and English) and balance of 2 year Grand Seiko international warranty. Also extra bracelet links and 1.5mm screws are included. The piece is currently sized for a 6.5 inch wrist.
