Yep, this is the only kind of regret I have

I joke about all kinds of watch collecting regrets but the truth is that I never feel any real regret at watches that I overpaid for, or that I missed out on, and when I've regretted a purchase, that's fixed when I sell or trade it away. The only real regrets are ones I owned and gave up too easily.

Here's my Lange regret to match yours:

I should never have sold my beautiful pink gold, gen. 1 Datograph. A short post - nothing more to be said. Other than: happy 25th birthday to a modern legend. aviya. ...

Beauty...

...but we do what we do when we do it for a reason. It's too easy to beat yourself up about things like this...

Yes, that's true mdg.

In my case, it's more just a pang of sadness than beating myself up - but I take your point.

What took its place?

If you don't mind sharing, I enjoy hearing about the thought process.

You can always find another one…

It’s a beauty.

Yeah, true Gary: they're on the market.

The experience of buying in new and owning it when it was first released is kind of irreplaceable for me and I've never been able to face back into reacquiring the watch.

‘Tis better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.

We all likely have similar stories of the onea we should not have let go of…

Love this light dial beauty!

A nice change from the black dial. I have missed tune two watches I have sold, but some watches despite liking them weren't right for me.

You're right: one of a comparable few argente dial Lange chronographs.

Fair enough: I've released pieces that weren't right for me too. But my hand was forced on selling this one...

Yep, this is the only kind of regret I have

Very sound analysis, blau.

Ah yes: the 1815 with the Sax-0-mat calibre (really filled the case-back)! A rare and quirky beauty.

It's a historic watch for Lange

Happy B-Day to the Datograph...really put Lange's name on the watchmaking map again when it was launched.

Indeed Dimardi.
