Sure thing.

1. No. The original AD was a different retailer in Europe, not WoS.
2. Yes, I bought it from A Collected Man who serviced the watch with Lange upon receipt from the original owner.
3. Based on the caseback and movement numbers the watch was manufactured between 2009-2011, and sold in 2015. The reference number is 402.032.

I've been in contact with WoS who have forwarded my concerns and issues with the watch to Lange. Lange requested a picture of the caseback (presumably comparing the alignment of the screws with when they serviced the watch or some other quick check) and confirmed the watch is still under warranty and the repair will most likely be covered, however, is subject to a physical assessment.

That is one main concern of mine that Lange will try to charge an astronomical repair bill despite it being under warranty.

Servicing Questions

 By: Johnokoen : December 11th, 2023-10:52
Hi all, I recently purchased a Lange watch earlier this year. Despite being recently serviced by the seller, there were obvious scratches on the sides of the movement bridges and the movement occasionally jams and stops working. I've been in contact with ...

Well if the watch would have been serviced by Lange…

You would have the paperwork today. Not sure if the company you mentioned is an official retailer of Lange? So I assume you bought used? And is it still under Lange warranty? I personally never saw a Lange coming back with scratches on the movement! So I ...

Thanks Dirk.

The seller sent me the receipt and documentation from Lange for the service, and Lange has confirmed the watch is still under service warranty. I received a 'full set' from the seller, the booklet was not filled out however. I'm more concerned of theft or...

good questions that aren't often asked

You probably should go ahead and ask directly rather than get opinions from outside parties, but unless there are regional quirks i'm not familiar with, my presumption would be that if the counterparties involved are WOS and Lange (i.e. you are handing yo...

Congrats on your Lange purchase

Sorry to hear about the scratches on the movement. Alkis is located in NYC. I had an excellent service experience with him. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about this.

Hi Johnathan, I assume WoS (a) is a Lange AD where you are (Australia it seems) and (b) will handle the shipping/insurance logistics. If true, AND IF THAT'S REALLY ALL YOU CARE ABOUT, then just give the watch to WoS and they'll ship it back to Lange using...

i'd say its actually encouraging that a disinterested 3rd party (WOS) was acting as an intermediary and confirmed that only Lange had serviced and that it was under warranty. I'm not entirely clear under what parameters there would be an astronomical repa...

Appreciate your input, thanks!

I thought my reply posted the other day!

Sorry for the delay. I was just going to say that it sounds like the only unpleasant surprise you might receive would be if Lange said the movement was damaged due to impact. Hopefully that won't happen. Please keep us posted, and good luck!
