Probably due to the chatons needing extra thickness (taken up by rotor here). And to offset the cost of the Pt peripheral weight. Regards, skyeriding [nt]

From what I read the rotor is gold plated to enhance the Mechanics and cut down on the sheer force Causing undue stretching of the rotor [nt]

As I spoke with Tony De Haas today on a similar subject today, I'd assume it is not has to do anything with costs etc.. Chatons add extra thickness, thus they wanted to avoid that. Rotor is not solid gold due to thin structure of its main part. If it woul...
