TAG Heuer debuts tourbillon carbon-nanotube hairspring

This was first announced about two years ago as a feature in Zenith Defy El Primero 21, but when the watches started getting delivered later in 2017, they were equipped with regular metallic hairsprings. Clearly LVMH had not yet perfected the technology at that time, but now it seems the R&D phase is complete. See a very informative interview with Guy Semon in the link below, where he explains the chronometric properties of the new technology, its advantages over silicon hairspring, and the cost effective production and assembly techniques which will eventually lead to its widespread deployment across their product range.

I have a hard time swallowing the price of this Tag. The brand holds value like the sinking titanic!
