It’s not a matter of thickness but more of a tapered looking strap. They look much better and elegant on watches.

I liked it the way you had it before because the non taper Nato did not bother me. Glad you found the strap that made you happy, however.
That's true. Some people like natos
It's not the taper on a nato. It's the whole thing! It makes the watch sit really high and the nato is big and bulky. This strap is something awesome I think IWC could have included a nato with a leather strap for this watch.
No I got the one from the--- PILOT’S WATCH MARK XVIII EDITION “LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD FOUNDATION”
Under replacement straps they have the olive and the black. When I owned that Mark I remember the strap being a perfect fit for my wrist from feel to how long the tail is. It's also leather just looks like textile.
It was under $100 but since this won't be my last IWC
I will always have a use for it going forward. At the end of the day I like having original manufacturer parts on any luxury product!
