Thanks for your advice, very valid points. To me, the dial of the 5140r is quite beautiful as it changes shade when in natural daylight and then under strong lighting. The 6196p is really only in the mix due to Ben Clymers glowing review.

I wouldn’t wear it that often as it would be more like a special occasion watch. Adjusting the 5140r each time might be a pain but perhaps the 6196p would be better for quick setting, winding and wear…..also draws less unwanted attention?

Thank you for that. My old 2015 RG Offshore was completely silent with no rotor noise so this is very different. Anyway, I love the watch. I’ve ordered a new rubber strap from the Pride Of Italy LE.....should look great for the summer!

I'm now enquiring about the availability of the White rubber strap that can take a 18mm folding clasp. I'm sure this must exist.... I've seen it on the Pride of Siam LE for example

so my buckle is too narrow for the white rubber strap? That is such a shame as I really wanted a white rubber strap for the summer :-(
