one has to wonder if this is, career-wise, a demotion for him. was madame renier's tenure considered a success or failure ("belle horlogerie"...) within the industry?

either way, i wish Lambert well and hope it bodes well for JLC, but i have no idea what direction he can take that will not be viewed as a gross indictment of madame renier's leadership. but if Rupert loves her, she has nothing to worry about...

some manufacturers tweak models every few years, whereas others basically leave a model in catalog for years and years...

and others (JLC!) bring in a new model/line then kill it after 2 or 3 years if it has not "taken off" (in some executive's mind that is, sales-wise), regardless of the lines appeal and strengths. this shows no commitment to the idea, which makes one...
