WristScan for 1/19 starts now! Theme: If I were at SIHH 2018, this would be gracing my wrist as I wonder through the halls

 By: mkt33 : January 18th, 2018-10:25
I guess proper etiquette would be to wear something from the brands showcasing their new models. So if I am ever lucky enough to get a kitchen pass from the wife, 4 kids, and work... I would be wearing this! Thin, discreet, Ppro style Piaget Altiplano Loo...

Possibly this, to accompany you ;-)

 By: agyzace : January 18th, 2018-10:40
...

Fully agree about the ultimate concept, dear Alkiro

 By: agyzace : January 18th, 2018-13:14
Piaget is this rare brand that its quality in terms of watches and movements is on par with the best (easily), it is a true manufacture, but somehow flies under the radar. I love them for all that. All the best my friend, Alex

You are so right.

 By: TheMadDruid : January 19th, 2018-13:20
Beautiful dials and movements and so many of us forget about this brand. Alex and Mike-really nice!

Wow! Great minds think alike...

 By: mkt33 : January 18th, 2018-15:09
Hope to meet you one day in person. Thanks for sharing, Mike

Same here Mike!

All the best, Alex

Well, these two πŸ˜‰

 By: Alkiro1 : January 18th, 2018-11:34
You’re right about Piaget. Great choice as the Altiplano Ultimate Concept is definitely one of the true star of this 2018 SIHH. Best wishes Alkiro ...

Very nice wrist companions at SIHH :-)

 By: mkt33 : January 18th, 2018-15:13
I hope the Altiplano Ultimate Concept is successful. Somehow Piaget always flies under the radar (in a good way) Have fun at the Show, Mike

Thank you Mike

Such different watches but both equally powerful...

 By: mkt33 : January 18th, 2018-19:01
I suspect you would have a lot of people stopping you to ask about your watches at SIHH Cheers, Mike

Even in that turmoil? [nt]

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : January 18th, 2018-23:53

I would...

Definitely my GMT

 By: Harry2 : January 18th, 2018-21:07
In the spirit of the theme, here we are in action right now, heading to my mate’s place for dinner. If I was at SIHH this would be my chosen companion because of its ability to change time zones easily and the respect that Grand Seiko has among collectors...

I’m glad you like it my friend

 By: Harry2 : January 18th, 2018-23:19
I could say the same about... your whole collection!

Smart choice.

 By: TheMadDruid : January 19th, 2018-13:35
And really nice.

Does that dial change colors depending on lighting conditions?

 By: mkt33 : January 19th, 2018-15:53
I guess I am somewhat boring...my watches fall into 4 color categories: blue, black, grey, white Thanks for sharing that beauty, Mike

Great choice dear Harry! I know you love this GS and I can well understand you! I love my own one so much and always marvel about its stunning dial...

 By: Subexplorer : January 21st, 2018-05:49
... and keep wondering on how they reach such a complex and superb polishing of its case surfaces. Not to mention its outstanding precision. Keep loving my friend! Hagwe! Abel

A Piaget dress watch would be the perfect choice, Mike. Unassuming . . .

 By: Dr No : January 18th, 2018-21:28
. . . yet persuasive. Especially if you're dressed formal. Me, I'd wear flannel, jeans, and desert boots. And have my one legit travel watch . . . . . . on my wrist. Art ...

Reliable wrist comrade . . .

 By: Dr No : January 19th, 2018-08:18
. . . he is. I mostly refer to watches in the feminine, but not Flighty . . . definitely masculine. Art ...

I like the way you travel. [nt]

Come to think of it you are right.

 By: mkt33 : January 19th, 2018-15:57
I would probably hate having to "dress up" every day at SIHH. Perhaps I need to wear a more casual watch... You have a perfect wrist companion, I never knew you had this vintage Flightmaster in your collection. Thanks for sharing, Mike

Had it for exactly two years now . . .

Hell of a story behind as well

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 21st, 2018-03:55
What I particularly like about your collection is that every piece has a story Cheers D

Great story. Thank goodness Lackland AFB's dormatory buildings has changed

 By: mkt33 : January 21st, 2018-16:11
I don't think I would have enjoyed my 3 month rotation living in the building as seen on your photo. Cheers, Mike

Instructions manual included ;)

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 21st, 2018-03:52
Amazing Omega Art...one that's growing on me thanks to you! Cheers D

In my pantheon of Omega legends, the 910 is just behind the 2914 . . .

 By: Dr No : January 21st, 2018-11:18
. . . and ahead of any Speed or Seamaster. In a sense, it's the ultimate expression of Speed design. I'd been searching for over a decade before latching onto this one. Art

Ok, let me see what I can chip in to play.. A watch that is versatile, yet with a sporty elegance, cool but also appealing with its charm !

That Polaris would be a wonderful travel companion anywhere! Indeed, when the new JLC models hits the stores, I'd love to hear about your thoughts in regards to the comparison, HAGWE, Mike

I'm not going to top the beauty of the Piagets that started this thread.

So I would go with one of last year's introductions: A non-vintage Vintage (45) so the GP Mafia would let me hang out with them-I know they are a lot of fun. And finally, a simple dress watch-so the Piaget guys would let me hang with them. ...

Maybe it loves you back... [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : January 19th, 2018-16:42

The Piaget brotherhood would surely be excited by your presence

 By: mkt33 : January 19th, 2018-16:20
Whether or not we are more fun than the GP mafia I guess we will have to find out ha, ha! Thanks for sharing your selections, Mike

I would be honored to spend some time with you Piaget owners.

Montblanc could just release this again rather than come up with another of their "classic" models...why reinvent the wheel? Great choices Best, Mike

Now I certainly would not mind that :)

 By: KMII : January 20th, 2018-12:38
Especially if it was graced with the Cal. 48 or 62.00 movement Thanks Mike!

I probably won’t wear one of the brands in SIHH

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : January 20th, 2018-15:59
If I wear a JLC, someone at the Montblanc booth will have comments. If I wear a Lange , VC may not be happy. So, I would rather wear an Indie , or a brand at Basel Happy weekend to everyone ! Cheers Robin ...

lol that’s true :) [nt]
