The Turtle has shed its shell - the Seiko Prospex SRPA21K1 without the bracelet

Last week has definitely been a strap week for me. In addition to the new strap for the LUC Chrono One - (here: www.watchprosite.com for pics)- and the Mille Miglia 2014 Race Edition - (here: www.watchprosite.com for pics) - the Seiko PADI Turtle has also gotten a 'refreshment'.

The SRPA21K1 has been my first - and so far only - dive watch. Not that it gets really subjected to much swimming or diving at the moment. wink But still, the metal bracelet, while very comfortable and well made, is definitely anything but light, so I was looking to augment it at some point with a selection of straps. And while Nilo claims that friends don't let friends wear NATO, the curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to give it a try. On the bright side, the potential downside is limited, given that there is no real financial burden involved. Still, the first results are not too bad, even if I now have more NATOs on order wink

So without further ado...

This was a first experiment with a black one. Not at all what I wanted but then finding 22mm NATOs locally is hard, so... But once the bracelet is off further changes are fortunately very easy smile

The grey one is much better, even if not yet fully what I am looking for...

And I find it makes the watch somewhat more versatile than the bracelet, as it is, well, I don't know wink

In any case, looking forward to delving deeper into this game - new ones are - as said - already on order and I am sure that there are some exciting possibilities there biggrin

Thanks for viewing!

Did you think about a rubber one? Best wishes Alkiro

I did...

And may yet get it. I generally dislike rubber in straps but the Seiko one is so supple I may give it a try

Will do so, Alkiro :)

Hi I'd been wondering what a Turtle would look like on a NATO. How does it wear compared to the bracelet - does it twist or move more on a NATO than on its bracelet? Looking forward to what other NATOs you've got incoming and how it might look. Cheers JML...

Thanks JML!

It actually sits quite snugly on the wrist, so it fits about as well as on a bracelet. Much lighter of course Will share of course!
