JUST Scammed (almost) by Capurro UK...please read

Hi All:

I have been a long time paneristi, however, I am creating this post because I was almost victimized by an unscrupulous person calling himself Philippe Capurro from the UK.  I posted a WTB for an IWC BP recently, he answered me by email and sent me pictures of a most beautiful 5004-22.  A too good to be true price was offered, but I did ask for his ID and banking information.   Claiming he was the original owner, with the original receipt, with remaining warranty, I asked for copies of everything.

When he did not send anything by email immediately, I then asked for a watermarked photo, which he delayed sending as well.    I "almost" pulled the trigger regardless, because this was a Grail watch for me, but I did some searching of old posts and found he was using someone else's photos from 2 years ago.   I was very lucky to find the same ad in the archives.

When I challenged and confronted him about the fake photos and actual ownership, his final email reply was "LOL, F**K off".... lesson learned.

My lesson:
1) if the deal is too appealing, then it's too good to be true.
2) ask for watermarked photos
3) be patient in your deal, don't rush, and don't let your Grail blind you to scammers.
4) Philippe Capurro cannot be trusted, no matter if he has past good references.
5) SCAMMERS are lurking everywhere, please be careful.

Thank you for reading.
