you should have engaged that "gentleman" in a conversation! i'm sure he would be glad to see someone recognizing his watch and able to name the name of the model as well!
but: there is nothing extraordinary seeing PP wearers on campus, they -including me- are everywhere! smile
last time i met a PP wearer, i looked at his watch and he looked at mine. it was like exchanging a secret handshake! smile

PP 5002P sighted on a college tour

I was with my son on a college visit @ Princeton Univ this afternoon. During the tour, my wife noticed a gentleman wearing this "expensive watch" standing next to us. She whispered to ask if I know what brand it was. I walked towards him, and saw a PP 500...

Really cool to see Pateks at the Ivys

Very cool! I am glad that people such as that gentleman are wearing even the most complicated of Pateks every day. The Ivy setting is even better. As for your son, I wish him the best of luck in his college applications; I just went through them this past...

Thanks

He was wearing it while it was raining!

When the tour started, it rained. The gentleman had a poncho on, but it was not long enough to cover the arms, that's why we noticed the watch. It just occured to me that it had a minute repeater function, and if my memory is correct, it's not as water re...

a fake?

i thought that -unless it's a fake- any patek model can survive undamaged a rain fall, or am i misinformed? if raindrops can damage a watch, how about sweating profusely?

it's real for sure

I'm just commenting about the fact that the minute repeater is not as water resistant as other PP models due to the mechanism. The entire family is very well dressed, and their watches and jewelries all speak "money"
