 By: Bruno.M1 : March 7th, 2012-07:29
5204 or the new 5004 looks very good 5940 is great too no time to post pics or more info .... very busy at work :-(

You see? Not sleeping, just working. :)

I am still waiting for the pictures, but our Dje is at the Basel Fair, for us. What I really don't like are these two portholes... Except that detail, yes, a nice watch. It is better to launch a thread with some pics, I think.... Best, Nicolas

Not sure about the Nautilus white dials, but 5726 with metal bracelet is what I needed

 By: tempus : March 7th, 2012-13:22
Have to see the white dials in the metal. Not sure yet

Exciting

Thanks very much for sharing this. White dialed 5980 might be on my wish list. Park

Sorry but blue is the way. [nt]

But . . .

what if you love the watch and already have blue and black versions?

Disappointing

Besides the (inevitably unattainable) 5204 and interesting 5940, a disappointing selection in my mind. New dial designs and bracelets aren't quite enough. Maybe there's some more still to come.

I don't disagree...

I read somewhere, that this years offering was going to be pretty conservative. Seems as though that was the case. I didn't really see anything that is going to get me to take out my check book, but i'd like to see the world time on the bracelet first. Li...

Disappointing is right

Disappointing is the perfect word. Couldn't agree more. Rishad

5004 vs 5240

 By: jglydon : March 8th, 2012-06:26
For me I prefer the 5004 for many reasons but hopefully the picture will explain better than my words. John...

No comparison

You're absolutely right, No contest. The 5004 wins hand down for me as well. I wouldn't wear a watch that looks like the new 5240. Really, really surprised to see something like this from Patek. Rishad

It's awefully quiet...

 By: jonrus : March 11th, 2012-07:34
In the past, there seems to have a lot of enthusiasm among purists, especially during Basel. Now, it's really quiet. There are a lot fewer postings showing excitement to order or buy from AD. It's probably a combination of the inability to get certain pie...

you nailed it jonrus! the passion is slowly fading for me also,

for all of the reasons you stated. The old PP's are much more interesting than the releases seen in 2011 and 2012, with the possible exception of the 5235G. I guess I will be spending more time at the auction houses and online than at my AD. ;-) This mess...

thanks!

It's nice to hear from a fellow purist that shares my sentiment. If I'm an AD, I'll be worried, especially since my "collector" customers are not texting or calling me for orders during Basel week. It's a "canary in the coal mine" sign in terms of sales d...

Couldn't agree more

This line of yours hits the nail on the head The old PP's are much more interesting than the releases seen in 2011 and 2012. Much of this must also have to do with the way the market is moving. I'm sure PP knows this is what their clients want more, and w...
