5712 steel all day long? YES
I wear this watch since June 07 almost every day and sometimes I sleep with IT.
I swim ( in the sea), I go to the gym and do the same things I used to do with my Rolex.
No I never had a problem except that it is not very accurate and I don't have the time to go to Geneva to fix it, but it doesn't bother me.
I have to say though that I am more careful than with my Rolex.
So enjoy it.
It is IMO one of the best ( if not THE best) every day steel watches around.

It is a Great watch
I wear it daily....also FOR skiing and swimming . It is a very strong watch . Never I had a problem, it is slim and light. And when I watch it I have always a Great joy feeling to wear something special. I didnT have this feeling with my Daytona . Enjoy y...
The Feeling
Walter I understand the feeling you talk about .Always owning a Rolex and As this is my first Patek I did not understand . This watch feels much better on the wrist as compared to my Daytona. Did you keep the Daytona?

Thanks guys , It feels good to hear that . Dont get me wrong about the Rolex , I do love them but something about putting on a Patek each day I cant explain.
