I’ve heard so much about ABP, think I’ll need to check them out.

Lessons learned

When choosing non OEM straps I’ve learned never settle. Some brands undercut the competition by offering what seems like the real deal at 1/3 the price, but I learned the hard$$ way My recent experience taught me always hold off and go for quality and put...

Agreed. Most of the straps on my vintage Omegas . . .

. . . are custom tailored, and the few that aren't are checked for fit at the well-stocked downtown LA parts supplier before purchase. Wearing one of the off-the-shelf-but-tried-on-first straps . . . ['53 ref 2608] . . . today. ...

Super cool

Lugs, dials, indices, strap choice is icing on the 🎂 👌🏻

I've learned that nobody makes better straps than the OEM versions

I've bought many straps, but I always come back to OEM straps. What I dislike about custom straps is that often you get subpar spring bars, which are not components to skimp on, and a cheap looking and feeling tang buckle.

1000%

On the tang buckle, always swap those out with my OEM Omega pin buckle. Unfortunately the 60th trilogy watches came with with sub par straps so I’ve been on the hunt for straps.

You don't like the flat link bracelets?

I too am probably going to buy an omega strap to put on my 321 as I find the bracelet to be too flimsy and thin compared to the rest of the watch.

Good luck

The trilogy speedy bracelet was a major let down, I’ve ended up with like 5 different straps now endless chasing for a replacement. The Fostner flat link as flimsy as it has been is more true to the 2915 than Omega’s.

Couldn’t agree more with your sentiments

Look at it this way… you’ll not make the same mistake again, so think of any $ expended as part of your education in acquiring straps. I’ve had several custom straps made by Camille Fournet and ABP; the results have been well worth the expense and lead ti...

Like all strap makers; being in person

Is better to know what the leather is going to look like and texture.

This is a good point... ABP will sell swatches of their different leathers, so the customer can see different materials and colors before placing a custom order

again, the best advice is to take your time...it'll be worth the extra research and upfront work in the end. As an example, JLC doesn't offer OEM ostrich straps for some of their references, so Camille Fournet was able to create this one for me which matc...

I always

associate ostrich strap with white dials reverso’s. Strange JLC didn’t provide you this, cause everyone knows CF are there suppliers. CF are the 👑 of straps.

I wouldn't have ordered a 19mm for a 20mm no matter how hard the sales guy pushed..

 By: patrick_y : September 27th, 2023-17:19
19mm just won't work in a 20mm. And if that guy thinks it's "common" then that guy has low standards. I would have run away. I would not let my greed of getting a good deal make this compromise and I would've realized the time spent with this brand as a "...

Thank you. I stand corrected. Yeah, that definitely won't work.

And you increase scratching your watch in so many ways.

I had a different experience

I wanted a rubber strap for my Seamaster Trilogy which blends seamlessly with the lugs the way rubber bracelets do for other Seamaster models. The salesperson at Omega boutique checked that 19mm Seamaster rubber band simply doesn't exist and offered to or...
