Thanks to Dr No for alerting me to this thread!

My rose gold (non Japan) 1894 says hi. I do love it. Found it in HK at the street stall of a chap (who everyone in town knows), who specialises in vintage Rolex and dabbles a bit in vintage Omegas. One of those that’s just so right, I don’t know how I’d ever give it up.

But this platinum one…well!…I am such a sucker for white metal…phwooooar…bloody perfect…

Best

E.

. . . "eventually". Yes, two blue enamel 1894 Homages in one wrist shot. I'll bet this has never happened before. ...

Wow these are beautiful

What a terrific looking watch...

There's only a hundred to begin with . . .

. . . and they all went to Japan in the mid-'90s. To find two in the next hemisphere side by side has gotta be a first. ;-)

Lucky Japanese...

Bravo, Don Turo.

. . . to get a handle on how his latest acquisition was running. 317º amplitude, 0.1 ms beat error . . . as good as it gets. 🤙🏻

Quite good, indeed.

. . . before the right moment came three years ago. It had been one of my grails ever since seeing Steve G's twenty years back.

It is stunning. Enjoy it!!

. . . not wrong. I'd forgotten about this ref. And wish I hadn't seen these images from a Christie's auction. Now I want one. ...

Thank you dear yacomino.

Yes, on the one hand blued hour hands would add more contrast and colour, but on the other hand a monochromatic look is also quite something? 🤔

Miki J bought the version our Count now owns . . .

 By: Dr No : February 26th, 2024-18:12
. . . and replaced the hour and minute hands with NOS Omega blued sword hands. I'll try to find a photo.

Wow! That must look very cool!

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : February 26th, 2024-18:16

Found a photo of Miki's 1894 . . .

 By: Dr No : February 26th, 2024-18:20
. . . before he replaced the hands. Will contact Miki presently - he might still have an image with all blued hands. ...

Finally found Miki's pics . . .

 By: Dr No : February 26th, 2024-18:36
. . . of his modified 1894. Of course, he kept the originals for the next owner. 🙂 ...

Very interesting.

By: COUNT DE MONET : February 26th, 2024-19:57
I like these blue replacement hands, but to me the luxury of this particular 1894 model is the lavish use of rose gold.

Miki swapped the hands for legibility. The original precious metal chronometers . . .

 By: Dr No : February 26th, 2024-20:12
[ ca '46 ref 2364] . . . usually had hour and minute hands that matched the case with blued subsidiary seconds hands. ...

Personally I REALLY love the outcome! Thanks for sharing!

Two 1894 Japan Edition Omegas on one picture is quite a rare sight. Congrats to yor friend! I am searching for one myself and make up with this one in the meantime: Not saying I will let it go, if the Japan is in the stable.😃 ...

Well done, Count.

Thank you my dear friend.

By: COUNT DE MONET : February 26th, 2024-17:45
It was luck, I must say. Found it on the secondary market page of Rüchenbeck, a juweller. For a good price, in pristine condition and complete papers and box. One of my best purchases! 😃

Totally agree!!!
