oh ooooh the 339 disapeared from OP's website !

 By: P@trick@Belgium : October 9th, 2010-02:49
some voices say the 339 Marina Militare will not be produced with the words MM on it .... so what will happen next ?? I think the MM just made the watch what it supposed to be ... let's hope they don't cancel the whole project

Damn! Some won't be able to sell it for 30 K USD! :)

Bad news for flippers. Best, Nicolas

LOOOL

 By: aldossari_faisal : October 10th, 2010-03:55
Thats the first thing came on my mind when i read the headline of the thread. but honestly too many flippers are floating around and within panerais world these days . Faisal

This is not a recent phenomenon, sadly.

 By: amanico : October 10th, 2010-10:11
Remember the Pam 203, released in 2005? It was already the case! Best, Faisal. Nicolas

You know I have one already with MM written on it

 By: AnthonyTsai : October 10th, 2010-07:58
I'm going to sell it for $500,000! LOL Cheers, Anthony

You're the king, Anthony! Fifty Fifty? :))) [nt]

And btw for those reading who don't know

 By: AnthonyTsai : October 10th, 2010-10:26
I was being facetious in my above comments. I don't have a PAM339 but was making a joke in relation to the recent PAM360 thread about one being sold for $30k. So I want to make sure I am not spreading the news that I do have a PAM339. - AT

Must be true

 By: GregE : October 12th, 2010-12:00
I read on the internet that AT has a 339, so it must be true. I don't care what anybody else says.

You know mine is also the Shadow version too! [nt]

Interesting,

 By: Asimut : October 9th, 2010-03:31
perhaps the license for MM has expired? Asi

Yes.....but...

 By: sirjo : October 9th, 2010-03:33
the ones who'll end up with the few pieces ALREADY produced, will sell them for MEGA BUCKS...flippers or not.. Cheers - Sergio

AFAIK

 By: Asimut : October 9th, 2010-04:43
no 339 hit the market yet?

No, it hasn't been released,yet......

 By: sirjo : October 9th, 2010-05:27
but I'm sure if they scrap the...model....the shadows used to promote the 339 in the boutiques (like the one I had on my wrist, in a picture I posted) will become INSANELY expensive and they WILL find a way to the...market.. Cheers - Sergio

I wont.... [nt]

Asi, do you think it has something to do with the OPV?

 By: PoyFR : October 9th, 2010-12:25
O.P.V. MMT500. Expired may be not. Conflicting with newer agreements? If it is, and for what ever other reasons, I find it regrettable, because the brand loses The root that made this now-brand from the beginning.

Well, I'm not sure Panerai asked for MM agreement on the Pam 217...

 By: amanico : October 9th, 2010-14:48
So I'm a bit surprised to hear that it is now for some legal issues that the MM writing will not be on the dial... Best, Nicolas

Doubt it

 By: Asimut : October 10th, 2010-00:16
as it doesn't look like there could be a real problem in that sense (see the PAM 267). Aesthetically speaking, I like the dial with Radiomir much better (perhaps not only aesthetically,,,,) Asi

I have the solution: They could name it V V ... Vela e Vapore ( Sail and Steam ).

On a more serious note, Asi, wasn't the Pam 267 released AFTER the OPV?

 By: amanico : October 10th, 2010-00:44
So, in this case, why not using, once again, the MM name on the 339? Does that mean that the 267, released in 2008, was distributed " under the coat "? Probably harder to hide 1500 pieces compared to the 6 Pam 267 produced? Probably issued as a secret to ...

To me this is aiming stragely, I fail to understand how MM was not secured for ever....

Who said it wasn't?

 By: Asimut : October 10th, 2010-01:54
The speculation here has drifted us quite far, we do not know anything yet? I doubt if OPV has exclusive rights anyway, there is a very nice shop on the promenade of Viareggio that sells everything MM and they have from apparel to cups. Asi

It will be interesting to know the official reason, As if we will ever know ;-)

 By: PoyFR : October 10th, 2010-02:20
As for the shop in Viareggiio, that are many in NY too, who can say what's legit or not. Panerai is widely known now, they sure cannot print anything that can legally be challenged.... I look forward to the official reasons that pushed Panerai to forgo MM...

LOOOL again Nicolas

 By: aldossari_faisal : October 10th, 2010-04:02
but seriously panerai now is losing reliability ... or are they TOO busy producing endless SE and LE....!!? Faisal

339 will not show MM on the dial for sure...PIC inside

 By: nacho m : October 9th, 2010-08:09
I took this pic and asked some people at Panerai event Time and Space in Florence early this month. It seems some legal issues with MM writing, and final dial will not show this writing but the one in the pic By nacho_martinez at 2010-10-02...

I hope your version is true my friend...

 By: BluNotte : October 9th, 2010-09:51
I'm really hearing alot of different things from different sources, even official ones. But as always with Panerai, you never know till you get one! Ciao Stephen This message has been edited by BluNotte on 2010-10-09 09:51:30

Less writing on the dial, why not?

 By: amanico : October 9th, 2010-22:55
Those who were deeply and sincerely in love with the 339 won't care about loosing 2 lines on the dial. The others will pass their way. All is good. Best, Nicolas

Lets hope so nacho [nt]

Makes for a cleaner looking dial

 By: kglaw : October 10th, 2010-09:24
Still a great looking piece. I hope we still get to see the Marina Militare on future Panerai models

Hmmm...

 By: patrick_y : October 11th, 2010-18:04
Thanks for the pic Nacho, but I really like it with the Marina Militare on the dial actually. With the 8 Giorni Brevettato logo, the watch must have the Marina Militare script! If it doesn't have the Marina Militare Script it should say RADIOMIR PANERAI o...

You got a point, Patrick....

 By: amanico : October 11th, 2010-21:23
I tiotally agree. I would have preferred, if you remove the MM writings to have the ' Radiomir Panerai " writings stuck under 12, too. Like on the 203. Best, Nicolas

Thanks for the info.............Should they.....

 By: John HS : October 9th, 2010-19:00
Reduce the price since there is no MM. Just a thought , what do you guys think?

I think that.....

 By: sirjo : October 9th, 2010-20:06
after all the hype they should, IMO, shelve the "emasculated" derivative of the 339 for a while and come back with all guns blazing, when they figure out something as innovative and glamorous as the 339 promised to be... If not, I personally don't really ...

Easy solution to this

 By: mirador : October 10th, 2010-03:05
Why not substitute Marina Militare with Regina Marina ;-) now THAT would make a collector's piece for sure

Might as well use Blackseal

 By: Asimut : October 10th, 2010-23:54
Historically, both were never on dials.... Asi

Maybe OP knew it from the start....

 By: P@trick@Belgium : October 10th, 2010-09:21
these days nothing surprises me anymore from OP, just imagine they knew they couldn't use the MM anymore, made a few pre-production models to get us all teased and then changed the dial when the final produktion began ..... I realy like the MM on the dial...

Totally agreed with you Patrick , ,,,,,,what is their

 By: John HS : October 10th, 2010-17:09
Corporate responsibility. They are not small. They should have known. I like Panerai after all these years, but this act is really disappointing.
