JLC Buckle.....

 By: MiniCooper : December 16th, 2009-09:45
What are your thoughts about the JLC buckles.... Should they change it and have something like PP or VC has... a signature buckle? Maybe design a JL ..... Cheers

I will be very direct. .....

I don't like the JLC Folding buckle...I don't like it at all. It is not comfortable at all, irt is often non matching with the metal case, it is not very nice. The JLC watches deserve better. I much prefer the simple buckle, indeed. But JLC is hearing us,...

My 2 cents

I love the JLC bracelet and clasp mechanism tht is used wth the Master Compressor line, but I suspect that is not what yo are referring to. I do like the tang buckle on the Polaris, but the strap is only so so. I guess I would have to agree with Vlad as a...

Can you describe...

Hi Nicolas and Respo ... Can you describe what your discomfort is with the JLC folding clasp? Personally I don't feel that discomfort so looking for comparison. On the design field I see some points of improvement. Looking forward to what JLC comes up wit...

Hey, Rik

I don't find it aesthetically very nice, first. Then, it is always a pain when you close the double folding buckle once on your wrist. I preferred the simple folding buckle from the beginning of the year 2000, for example. Best, nicolas

Polaris original strap and tang buckle...

 By: nwp627 : December 17th, 2009-19:31
My only disappointment, albeit a very small one, with my Polaris was the original strap and tang buckle. The strap was too thin and IMO not very well made while the buckle was all wrong for the size of the watch. N

I agree on the strap, and disagree on the buckle, Neil

Get yourself a nice tropic strap, and you will see that the buckle is perfect, IMO. JLC took their inspiration from the vintage Buckle which was on the tropic straps of the era. As for the strap, I let it in the box, and I hunted several for the Pola. Bes...

it is good to know....

that JLC is listening.... Hopefully they will come up with a much better one.... Cheers

From my limited experience

At the present time, I have three different JLC watches. I think the straps are very nice - both the leather ones and the rubber ones. The bracelets are among the best made. However, I would prefer a push-button deployant clasp to the current friction-fit...

The JLC folding buckle is good....if

...if you get the correct strap size. This is a picture of my original strap on my skinny 6.5" wrist: Here's a pic of my new customized strap:...

I agree..

I agree, the folding JLC deployant doesn't feel nearly as comfy as a simple buckle. After wearing a custom made strap with a sewn in simple buckle for weeks now , I truly believe this 100%. The strap feels like something that should have come with the JLC...

The strap is another thing

 By: amanico : December 16th, 2009-21:53
Well, I mean that most of the JLC straps may be improved, except a very few of them, like for example the one on the Extrem Lab, or the one on the Amvox II Racing. But if they re think their straps, they will enhance the buckle, too. A watch includes the ...

MUT with double deployant...!

By: Dave in Wales : December 17th, 2009-06:27
My recently acquired MUT 34mm came with a beautiful butterfly deployant. Absolutely riduclous on such a delicate watch, the deployant dwarfs the watch. It should have come with a buckle IMHO. I have ordered one. D in W...

I agree (I think)

Although I like the double folding clasp and I find it perfectly comfortable, I have occasionally thought it looks clunky - like too much metalwork for such a svelte watch. I'd be interested to see pics of your MUT when the buckle arrives, Dave. Best, J.

That is it...

A understated watch such as the MUT asks for an equally light tang buckle.
