Seems sturdy enough

The crown is not a screw down, so it can rotate if you accidentally brush it against "things", but I've only noticed it slightly off on very rare occasions, and you will notice it since it rotates the big pointer at 12'oclock, which will be immediately obvious that it is not in line.  It helps that this crown is on the internal side of the watch if you wear it on the left hand, perhaps if you wore it on the right hand it would be more exposed.

I've hit this crown (and the others of the watch!) accidentally, and very hard, against a number of very hard objects before (including some steel and rock surfaces, ouch) and so far it seems ok.  Just sent it in for servicing after 3 (4?) years, and apart from numerous scratches on the body and a big scratch on the watch face thanks to my wife's diamond ring, they haven't told I've had to fork out for any major damage yet (waiting patiently for it to come back so I can take some photos with my new grande automatique, both steel w/steel bracelet).

There are only three things I don't like about the watch:
(1) the alarm tinkles if not set and wound  (which is fixed in the description of the latest extreme in one of the postings in this forum)
(2) the 12'oclock is not luminescent, which IMHO is a huge no-no for a purported diving watch
(3) the bezel crown is not ratcheting or uni-directional (which again is a huge no-no for a purported diving watch)

Hope this helps... xarope
