Repair time

May 12, 2010,03:52 AM

I appreciate your frustration. The AD kept me informed, but I have also learned from experience that service takes a long time and so does a repair - so I had no expectation of getting it done quicker than 8 weeks.

Now it is back and works flawlessly. It keeps excellent time and I use the alam on a regular basis. It works without any problems.

Problem with Navy Seals Diving Alarm

 By: jcb_frnk : April 5th, 2010-01:05
My newly acquired Navy Seals Diving Alarm stopped running after using the alarm feature the 3rd time. After winding the alarm the watch stopped running. It started again after playing with the alarm feature for some time - letting it ring, winding again e...

Sad to hear that

 By: amanico : April 5th, 2010-01:22
I agree with you on the fact that it is really frustrating to receive a watch which doesn't perfectly works, and more, which obviously has a problem. But on another side, I don't know any Manufacture which has 0 problems. It would be better, of course, to...

We cannot possibly expect 0 Problem or Fault

 By: PoyFR : April 5th, 2010-03:40
Oh yes, I would be frustrated and I would chant in the desert too. But we must be fair and tolerant. Let alone all the tests those watches must pass before going to their unknown destinations, all the tremendous handling our watches go through after depar...

Agree with both posts

these things can and do happen even to the best there isnt one brand which has 0 problems, i know how you feel because i have experienced this first hand with another, it turns you off the brand completely, but once you understand how these pieces work an...

Thanks for cheering me up

 By: jcb_frnk : April 5th, 2010-07:35
I know that this things do happen - even to the best most prestigious brands.... Its just different when somebody else has the problem. Hopefully I will receive good service from JLC - I am expecting a new watch, since mine is only 2 weeks old and I don't...

Sorry to hear of your issues.

 By: BDLJ : April 7th, 2010-18:38
Like many have already written, problems can occur with any brand. It's not acceptable, but it's (unfortunately) life. It's the way they're dealt with that matters. Let's hope it returns quickly so you can get on with the enjoyment of wearing it. You say ...

I totally agree with Nicolas

 By: =RWK= : April 6th, 2010-00:46
before your trust is gone, it is only reasonable to allow JLC the opportunity to address the issue. It is also totally unreasonable to think that there can not be an issue with a mechanical device, especially when it is new. This is Earth not Utopia. -- R...

So far no response from JLC

 By: jcb_frnk : April 6th, 2010-08:55
I has been a few days now - but so far I only have received the automated mail from JLC and no other response. Maybe I am just dreaming that this should go faster.... At least the sales associate from Singapore called last night offering help. Will keep y...

I had a similar problem....

with a watch (I will not name the manufacture) where something did not work the same evening I bought it.... things sometimes happen.... what is important is how the manufacture deals with it.... cheers

JLC will make sure that your issue is taken care of.

I had an issue with my time piece some time ago. JLC handled everything very professionally. I would recommend using one of their reps from a JLC boutique. This worked well for me. Did you think that your watch came with an "antireflective glass" prior to...

Hope you are right

 By: jcb_frnk : April 6th, 2010-16:42
When I purchased the watch I did not pay attention to the reflections on the glass. I would assume in this price range that a reflective coating should be the norm since I have cheaper time pieces which have coatings on the inside and outside. Therefore I...

By a very helpful gentleman in our forum to contact the BH boutique. They will help you with this manner for sure. Let us know how it goes for you plz... B well, Matrix.

 By: jcb_frnk : April 7th, 2010-18:52
The agent from Singapore arranged a contact with Stephanie from the Beverly Hills boutique. I have send the watch to her already. She seems to be very nice and helpful. I told her that I would like to get a new watch and no repair since its only 2 weeks o...

Stephanie is a very nice person

And I can tell you that she will do the best for your watch. Nicolas

Hello jcb_frnk....

 By: DRMW : April 7th, 2010-22:31
Sorry to hear about your problems and hope things get resolved quickly. Very curious about a few things. Did you get the watch in Singapore? Did your original AD of purchase attempt to deal with your issues directly? Strange that they would direct you to ...

AD in Singapore

 By: jcb_frnk : April 7th, 2010-23:27
Singapore has a BIG selection of watches and during our recent vacation I looked at many different time pieces in various stores. There is no selection of any kind where I live, the few JLC watches or other brands are 9 hours round trip by car away and th...

Is also whom had helped me with my issue. As Nicolas has said, you will be taken care of for sure. I do agree with you in that JLC should be responding directly to you via email at least re this disappointing concern of yours. Keep us in the loop on what ...

how long to repair a watch at JLC?

 By: jcb_frnk : May 7th, 2010-10:00
It has been a few weeks now that Stephanie from the JLC Boutique has send my watch to the Service Center and after that I have not received any news regarding the repair time, problems etc. I am getting a little nervous and I am not really happy with the ...

An average of 8 weeks...

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2010-10:14
Ask Stephanie about your repair, she will get the information and keep you updated. As for the price of a Titanium Bracelet for your NSA, it is around 1000 USD. Best, Nicolas

Poor service quality

 By: jab7cox : May 8th, 2010-02:54
You're a fine gentleman with kind patience. It has been too long. I do not think you deserve such kind of poor service. Stand-by you.

8 weeks are too long?

 By: amanico : May 8th, 2010-03:13
Wow, I hope you will never have to send a Vintage JLC to the Service Center, it will take 12 months! Seriously, send a watch to AP, PP, VC, Breguet, UN and so on, and you will see how many months it will take... 8 weeks look reasonnable, in comparison. Be...

thank you Nicolas

 By: jcb_frnk : May 8th, 2010-14:31
Thanks for your reply. Seems I have to wait another 4 weeks for the watch. The most frustrating part is the lack of information from the company. If they told me how long it will take, what they are doing to it etc. - that would really go a long way in cu...

Don't get me wrong, Frank

 By: amanico : May 8th, 2010-14:40
Yes, there is always something to improve, with every brand. And Yes, you're true, you should be informed on what has to be done on your watch. But if you call stephanie, I'm pretty sure she will be able to get all these informations for you. Actually, 8 ...

I experienced the same problem - the Navy Seals watch stopped when operating the alarm. The AD followed up - got the watch send through sevice. In all it took around 7 to 8 weeks - I am just glad it is back and now functions as it should and keeps good ti...

the problem is not the repair time but luck of information

 By: jcb_frnk : May 10th, 2010-09:38
Thanks for your reply! For me the main issue and major reason for the frustration is the lack of information feedback. If anybody told me up front that it will take 8 weeks to repair the watch and they would give me some kind of information in between tha...
