Agreed, black dial is a must. Also...

I wonder how it would look to replace the 12 numeral with the JL applied logo. It’s a minor quibble, but the top of the dial looks a little cramped to me with the 12, JL, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and the calendar apertures all in that small space. That change might space things out a bit better.

Jaeger Lecoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar: With a bit of distance, what do you think?

Time didn't change my feeling on that watch. A classic, for me, and a very elegant combination of complications. I am just looking for some new iterations, with just a different color for the dial. Black, for instance. You? Best, Nicolas ...

I love it

If i could change something, maybe it would be the pushers. I prefer round pushers like those on old Lemania pieces. A salmon dial will make it irresistable. Otherwise this is one fantastic piece!

Yes!

Make this with with pump pushers and I probably couldn't say no.

In my mind this pusher

Not sure about how it’ll look. Wish I knew some graphic designing skills to render a mock-up of it. Credits: Longines ...

That’s right

Some things may be theoretically nicer but when rendered in real life, it may looks incongruous. I prefer the round pushers only because they appear to trap less dust and grime which could otherwise be pushed into the case little by little.

A very elegant piece which respects tradition. But is this the way forward for JLC?

What troubles me is not the watch itself, it is very pleasing, but the context in which it was presented as a major new model.

Yes, true. But a dated base movement, and simple calendar module don't make a true flagship model.

And that's how it was presented when novelties were released. I miss the old days when duometre, extreme lab etc models were true horological marvels without going into the realm of grand complications.

Very Intriguing Watch from JLC..

I do think a black dial would work very well! Definitely need to see it in the wild but my local AD still has not received one as they don't move many JLC pieces.. Great photos and thanks for sharing -D-

Very difficult to fault the dial layout...

...very precise, clinical even. But too precise? Does it lack charm because there are no idiosyncrasies? I don't know why, but I have always placed JLC slightly below 'first tier' manufacturers. They seem somehow a bit too plain...too workman-like. I thin...

I like the lay out.

The color scheme... not so much. Bezel, rehaut, dial, all a bit too mono chromatic for my taste. I've seen a few watches in the new series in the metal, and none of them struck the excitement chord in me, sadly. - Wover

Salmon is such a nice colour

Here is one example of a Patek in salmon. It lessens the clinical look of pieces. Imagine the Patek Neptune had a plain white dial, it will look plain; but with the salmon dial, it transforms. Credit: forum member alkiro1 Credit:jomashop ...

Clean, classic and elegant.

What's not to like. Possibility of getting it in other colors - black dial for example - well, why not. Think it would work just as good.

I wouldn’t change anything.

I like the red and blue details on the silvery dial, the way the complications are well balanced on it. If I had to change one thing, it only would be the color and kind of leather of the strap: matte black or dark blue crocodile.

A very balanced dial from JLC

I think it would also look amazing in a white gold or pt in a grey dial. Pt probably too much but white gold in a darker dial would be very appealing ... could be black or grey.
