A case of watch hands stealing the limelight - the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Pantographe

 By: KMII : August 2nd, 2017-00:57
I have long been partial to quite some of the offerings by Parmigiani and have to say that the Tonda 1950 still rates as one of the finer examples of a modern, elegant dress watch in my eyes. I would venture that the brand offers many very solid elements ...

Thanks a lot Tim for the answer

Very happy that somebody wrote about Parmigiani because you said well, the brands remains under the radar, sometimes, even among watch lovers.

I am a great fan of Parmigiani as a Maison, regarding its particular organisation, of Michael Parmigiani, one of the greatest watchmaker alive (he restored some ancient watches that were declared unrestorable) and off course I am an admire of their amazin...

Thanks for your kind words, PP5170G!

You summed it up very well

I had the white gold

I liked it, but found I did not wear it much. It was not easy to resell. Very cool watch, but no second hand.

Thanks for your impressions, Shafran!

I guess the market for Parmigiani is less active than for more conventional brands. Which is unfortunate if one decides to trade but less of an issue if the piece is to stay for a long time...

Very nice watch, love it.

I always wonder why Parmigiani doesn't get more love here. It's a great watch and brand. Thanks for sharing.

I hear you, Bounce781!

The brand definitely has lots of appeal but seems to lack something to get the passions running high...

And new pantographe are now available

With guillochage grain d'orge on the dial, gold movement and series limited to 50 timepieces ...

Very nice!

A slightly unusual combination but as all Tondas, very elegant

It makes me sweat thinking about the eventual necessity to "pull the hands" at a service

 By: cazalea : October 21st, 2017-08:48
and what mechanism is inside the central hub to make them go in and out. Mike

I suppose it's a different kind of service to an ETA movement ;)

 By: KMII : October 21st, 2017-09:51
Way too intricate for me to imagine what servicing must be like
