It is entirely possible (even likely) that some dust got into your watch.  If it were a large enough particle, it certainly could've sopped the thing dead right away.  Likewise, a largish particle could be hiding somewhere and be shaken loose in a few days/weeks/months/years/decades and stop the watch dead at that point.  It's really nothing to worry about either way.  The watch is running and keeping good time, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, whistle a happy tune,
