How do you decide what watch to wear

 By: edtonkin : March 25th, 2024-15:53
for the day? Any methodology? Just on a whim? To match your outfit? Perhaps because you’ve seen a post or read a comment or an article about the same watch you own? The weather?

A combination of all these things

Wheather, Outfit, planned activities, people I meet, mood, … Well, not all things. My internet consumption doesn‘t really have an effect on what I‘m wearing.

Mostly occasion, people and outfit.

Although my choice of watch informs the outfit as often as the other way round. And sometimes there is not really a decision, but rather I open the drawer and a watch just jumps at me.

Maximum pleasure on the day …

Or, intuition with occasionally forcing myself to wear something I haven't in a while for that particular joy of being reminded how delighted I am by an old watch made novel again by a large gap in wearing. ...

Great question! Like many its often a combination of all these things, but lately (past year) its mostly about the one I feel like wearing

I used to "force myself" to rotate each watch with equal wrist time but I have stopped doing this. Of course some watches get more wrist time then others

The music i hear

Bands and artists are the main factor i gonna wear on my wrist. So, when i play Sam Cooke, i take my Accutron. When i play Adam Ant, Baume & Mercier. The Rolling Stones, i put my Omega on. Metal, Arcadia. Pop, Bulova Wilton. Listen to the radio, Longines....

Two watches per week

 By: donizetti : March 25th, 2024-20:26
One for work (usually precious metal on a strap) and one for play (sports watch on a bracelet or a Panerai). Rotating them through as I love them all. Best Andreas

Weather and outfit.

Always a concern about what the outfit is and whether the watch fits under the cuff. Sometimes it's a warm day, so I wear something different. Also depends on the crowd I'm hanging out with: do I want the watch to be more subtle or a larger statement? The...

Laziness (or inertia) rules my choices these days

 By: jiggerly-cool : March 26th, 2024-03:00
If it's already ticking, with the time correctly set, it's a strong candidate for the day's wear. So I tend to wear the same watch two or more days in a row. If nothing's wound up, the one that's easiest to set correctly. Thus, a stopped one with the the ...

I am not into the idea of changing the watch I wear every day

 By: andrea~ : March 26th, 2024-09:49
It puts unnecessary strain on the crown, especially if it's screw down. I wear some watches two weeks in a row and others for just a week. I give priority to dress watches during the winter and sports watches during the summer.
