Because I own this beauty! I too wasn't sure because of the bezel thickness and the base movement but frankly... the watch is just so bold and distinctive that I got over it quickly. It is a wonderfully enjoyable to wear and brings a smile to my face ever...

The use of the 7750 would not bother me at all. It has been so heavily modified : additional barrel and gear train for the foudroyante (like the Duomètre from JLC), rattrapante by column wheel, etc. that there is not much left of the base movement anyway....
The movement has also been used by Graham.

I agree with what you said about this movement. This is a watch I would love to see in the flesh, as it may well be one of the GP I am considering to add in the collection. Best, Nicolas.
