Malcolm is a Cornish Rex, not a Sphynx. However, he gets mistaken for one all the time. They share a ton of DNA, and I too love the Sphynx breed. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Pure joy! My first ROO.

 By: Barfly : October 12th, 2015-18:47
Dear Fellow Owners, Enthusiasts, and Collectors- Today marks the beginning and the end of a long horological journey for me: the beginning of my Audemars ownership and the end of the long process of owning lesser time pieces that led me here. I have final...

I can still vividly remember when I strapped on my first AP.

 By: MichaelC : October 12th, 2015-19:06
It was the silver dial rubberclad. I was astounded by the craftsmanship - a true AP hallmark from its inception in 1875 to today. The feel on the wrist - powerful. There is no brand that does it better than AP. Welcome here, thanks for your photos, and pl...

I agree entirely......

 By: Barfly : October 13th, 2015-18:09
No brand has quite the same feel on the wrist! And you have to love the rubber clad- such an iconic AP. Thanks for the warm welcome! Any group AP factory tours on the horizon???? Love to join one of those

Congratulations.

 By: JerryW : October 12th, 2015-20:28
You have a awesome piece, enjoy and wear in the best of health. Like MichaelC I also remember my first AP sliding onto my wrist. Eighteen years later I am still smiling. Best, JerryW

Glad your still smiling 18 years into the experience......

 By: Barfly : October 13th, 2015-18:12
And I can't seem to get that AP grin off my face either! Perhaps 18 years in, I'll still be so lucky! Thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to reading more about your AP journey!

Your first AP? [nt]

... Scratching that itch. Congratulations on scoring a beautiful AP. - Scott

The question is.......

 By: Barfly : October 13th, 2015-18:16
Have I scratched that itch???? Something tells me that I'm just getting started!

The Answer Is...

 By: MTF : October 13th, 2015-01:29
Barfly, Congratulations! The first cut is the deepest. I have a few Audemars Piguet watches but the gorgeous rose gold and black Royal Oak Offshore was missed out when first launched and now, I can't afford today's prices. You said, "I could write pages.....

More pages coming.....

 By: Barfly : October 13th, 2015-18:25
MTF- I assure you that I have many more musings about my new 44, but I'm saving them for a good review once I've had it for at least a few days . Thank your for the warm welcome. Its fantastic to find such a great group of fellow enthusiasts. My cat is a ...

You have passed the point of no return...

 By: Semper Fidelis : October 13th, 2015-02:28
Full throttle, congratulations Barfly! Suits you so well, too - cool looks, an unmistakable and gutsy statement for an elegant and modern lady with an affinity to heritage and craftsmanship: kudos! Here\'s the bad news: it might not be your last Royal Oak...

Can I quote you on my resume???

 By: Barfly : October 13th, 2015-18:34
Semper Fidelis-- You are too kind with your generous assessment! However, of course, I would love to think that I can live up to that fine prose, but I probably have a way to go there.... I'd still love to put it on my resume. . Thank you!! I agree, once ...

Anytime... However:

Your personality and your choice of what you wear and how you pull it off speaks a lot stronger than anything written. And a trip to LeBrassus is fabulous, great experience - perhaps a summer project for some Purists? Anyone? Btw: Love that classic soda-b...

Well, I am a BarFly...

 By: Barfly : October 14th, 2015-17:54
So a functioning soda bottle would fit, no? Actually more the reference to Charles Bukowski with the screen name..... That trip is absolutely on the agenda.. just need a group of fellow enthusiasts to make it perfect. You are, of course, ever so generous ...

Great to have another Afficionado of the Hank around ;)

Forgot to answer your question!

 By: Semper Fidelis : October 14th, 2015-11:57
It\'s never too early to eye your next reward... Banker\'s nod permitting. Given you have a Chronograph already, how about the Royal Oak Tourbillon since you mention that complication? Of course your choice is a marvelous piece, although I would suggest y...

Of course, this AP is Brilliant!!!

 By: Barfly : October 14th, 2015-18:02
Excellent suggestion, but perhaps a little conservative for my taste. I'm not known for my simplicity or restraint in design-- a flaw, perhaps? However, I greatly admire how the Tourbillion is the feature of this with nothing to distract. Very clean and t...

Congrats on your 1st AP!
