Watch Service Intervals

 By: DonCorson : September 21st, 2012-12:02
I feel predicting service intervals for watches, solely on the life of "watch oil", is too absolute. There are many watch oils used in watch repair all with varied properties. On top of the extensive list of oils are contributing factors to service life. ...

Very long winded...

... No actually I didn't find so. Is the post already finished :-( Very interesting post and topic, It makes a little scared having all these watches and not going so often to the doctor.. eh, the watchmaker... Best Hans

Thorough. Lots of good information!

Thanks for sharing! Lots of good information and problems/mistakes to learn from. Also a lot of aspects to consider to prevent degredation to the watch movement and oils.

Thank you for such a great article Don.

Great article. Are there any obvious tell-tale signs that suggest service is needed?

For example: The watch running slow - due to loss of lubrication or increase in friction by debris accumulated in bearings etc. Thanks Jim
