FP Journe CB on a Python strap

Feb 11, 2017,18:52 PM

Just thought I'd share. I picked up this FPJ CB, but it came with a long strap, which doesn't fit me. I just happened to have a glossy black Python strap from ABF that I figured I could use until I acquire a navy blue gator strap that fits. Turns out that I kind of like it. I still think a square scale gator strap like the original works better, so I will get one of those made, but the Python isn't bad as a change of pace.

It\'s this forum\'s fault that I got hooked on the FPJ CB, so I figured pay it back a little

So far my collection consists of a JLC Reverso, Lange 1815 Chrono, AP Royal Oak 15202st, Rolex 116710BLNR, and this FP Journe CB. I used to have a Vacheron 82172r, but I traded that piece to get this Chronometre Bleu. While I absolutely love the CB, I reg...

But I will honest and say I prefer the original blue strap as it is a perfect match for the dial. Just my conservative opinion but again, you have one of the best manual watches money can buy within that price bracket!!

Great watch, one of my favourites. Strap, hmmm, not so sure.

The difficulty with this watch is finding the strap which best accentuates that dial. The OEM blue gator does that job well, I've also tried a grey OEM and tan OEM (this tan is quiet popular and you'll see it in many posts). Enjoy this great watch.

IMO, the glossy python pattern fights for attention with the amazing blue dial.

I would choose a more subtle strap that lets the blue dial take center stage. A matte blue, or even a matte chocolate brown, would work, the latter accentuating the striking blue of the FPJ CB. Cheers, John

I'd suggest a matte blue strap

But whatever you choose, the dial, the hands, the case are a true masterpiece. Ruthenium has some mesmerizing bluish shades that will astonish you

Thank you all

for your generous compliments on the watch while being so polite in gently nudging me to make a better strap choice Having worn it like this for awhile, I do agree that the python strap just doesn't so the watch justice. I always intended it to be tempora...
