I’m reaching out to my fellow Purists hoping you can provide some insight son the Zenith’s El Primero movement and the frequency of the maintenance intervals.
I’ve always been a fan of the Zenith’s signature tri-color El Primero chronographs. I know there’s a magnitude of different variations of the El Primero. I’m about to finally pull the trigger on the new Chronomaster Sport with the new El Primero 3600 caliber.
However, I’m not one who appreciates surprises. I’ve been reading on various forums that expect to send my pieces in for service twice annually if I use the chronograph “Striking 10th” function a few times a month. Granted, the individual sound like a troll. I’ve read some stating it requires frequent service every two years. And finally, I’ve seen service is required every five years, which I find quite reasonable.
Can anyone elaborate on their experience with their Zenith’s equipped with the El Primero movement? Has your timepiece required a higher frequency of maintenance than other brands in your collection? Is Zenith’s service costs on par with its competitors?
Thank you!
Mark
