Striking 10th of seconds in the morning traffic
The red hand sweeps regularly around the dial in 100 equal mini-jumps. It is a joy to observe it.
Most importantly, this watch is changing my entire notion of Time: one second used to be the smallest portion that I could embrace; now I am getting used to LIVING full intervals of time within the limits of one second.
In a way, my lifespan has stretched: I visualize that a lot goes on from one second to the next, thus making my time denser, fuller... It is almost a metaphysical experience.
My opinion is that Future will recognize this watch as a groundbreaking innovation, ahead of its time, probably.
If you look at it honestly and coldly, most horological complications lack direct utility in our electronic age; their worth lies in the intelectual and technical achievement, in the beauty of the concept and its exact realization. This is what fascinates us. In this sense, measuring 1/10th of a second with exact and perfectly visible realism expands the limits of our existence in a way that deserves respect and admiration.
Yours, enjoying small intervals of Life,
Frank
