. . . a little while ago, Fab. He was at a Zenith event in NYC earlier this week, and got to speak with a manufacturer rep about the limited edition.

The critical piece of information missing from Monochrome's article is that the ten (actually eleven - the example in the photo is a steel-cased prototype) pieces are fitted with cal 135 movements that were used in chronometry trials. In other words, they weren't production movements per se, but rather movements originally built and regulated for time trials by Zenith's master régleuse.
They're worth every penny asked for them due to their historical significance, in my humble opinion.
