I recall at around the time they did the Kari dial one thinking...
If they did an accessible version in steel it would be very popular, coupled with the volume of El Primero releases it makes sense to do something else archival for this anniversary. I hope the dial side brings something optically special to match the movement, colour / finish options... I will be watching this one closely

I'd had the same thought at the time, and have been keeping my fingers crossed for a while that Zenith would do that, bring a modern 135 tribute in steel, accessibly priced. Can't wait to see!

In phasing out the Elite line
Does that mean they'll have a permanent place for a Cal. 135 based model? Undoubtedly beautiful watch but I'd like to see more of a Grand Seiko 9SA4 adjacent line of strong daily wearer time only manuals, accessible quality.

This over decorated dial, no. And platinum, no. A clean, sober, yet very fine 135 in steel. Even WG yes.
The original all day long ( probably)
O suppose more affordable, nice decoration, original adjustment etc… When doing a kind of re-issue, do it properly. So I hope they did the right thing in the end… Dirk
