What I have between told is -
“s” is “ super water resistant” and 58 is the water resistance in fathoms. (One fathom is six feet). This is according to a letter I have seen (in copy) from a Zenith employee dealing with vintage and collectible watches.
I stand corrected and am terribly sorry for misleading the entire watch community with fake and false news.
