The new Zenith DEFY Skyline

By: India Whiskey Charlie : January 25th, 2022-19:08
Powered by the new El Primero 3620 – a descendant of the El Primero 3600 1/10th of a second chronograph – the DEFY Skyline’s movement beats at 5HZ (36,000 VpH), making the display in the 9 o’clock counter a “natural” fraction-of-a-second indication. Photo...

Can’t do a Daytona, AP ROO 44 or RO? Zenith has your back 😉

Chronomaster Sport, Defy Extreme and now Defy Skyline, Zenith’s market strategy coming into focus. The 10th second dial is unique, fun, bizarre, without purpose and potentially distracting and annoying.

🥴

It's true.

Defy was born in 1969

Zenith took a while to re-edit it. We only miss the ingenieur, let's see whether IWC can rejoin the club

Hm I actually like this

There are many zenith that I have found too big or too busy with various colors. May need to investigate further. 🤷‍♂️

While this does look nice, I can’t help but feeling letdown in a way with them coming out with watch that …

… strongly seem to be inspired by the competition as opposed to coming out with their own DNA…or at least trying to establish their own DNA…

A lot to like here, and in many ways much more interesting than an AP

I feel the initial release colours of blue, black and white are safe bets but in time I could see grey, olive, burgundy etc., and lots of strap variations which would really help distinguish The design conversations are incredibly boring and generally poo...

Right…

These two were un (successful, proven, functional and attractive) Unlike this one That’s why Zenith arrived at this in 2022 ...

I thot it was a Tissot PRX!

haha

I like this a lot!

Being a AP fan I have no problem with design similarities actually I welcome great design alternatives at different price points. Also the interchangeable bracelet and rubber strap is really a step up for the brand. I hope this would propel AP to step up ...

Hmm, the tapisserie somewhat reminds me of Lego, especially on the white one. I know, it‘s not exactly the same, but that‘s what comes to my mind.

Also because most things on the dial are applied on top of it. And the hour markers seem to hang free at one end, because the minute track is a bit lower. Don‘t know how I feel about that. Date integration is very mediocre (at least it doesn’t sit at 4:30...

Im guessing within the year we'll get ceramic or carbon versions

I could see a carbon version with a grey dial on rubber strap working well, maybe the small seconds hand in red for a pop of colour, wider selection of straps

It is a nice looking series

I think the white dial model looks best and shows off the dial texture the most. They all seem attractive. And will be available and appropriately priced! BW, Chi Kai

Seems to be a nice alternative to nautilus, royaloak and overseas, but with the infamous el primero movement.

A matter of time maybe

It is a good alternative for who can not afford the famous sport steel watches.

True

 By: Ping.Timeout : February 22nd, 2022-01:46
That’s true although some prefer to have same function but with less flash. I think this fits well with such an individual.

I feel called

I think Zenith is pointing at me. The skeletonized Defy from the year before is nice, albeit i shocked a bit of it’s busy appearance. The dialed Defy from the year before, was for me not enough to plunge. I missed a mind of originality. I had no contact w...

Go for it
