not a huge fan of Daytonas

But from this angle the Chrono looks stealthy, my kind of stealthy. The closest I've ever come to getting a Zenith was the El Primero Open, back in 2001. Let's see more pics..

Instagram is full of teasers. Short glimpses show a very white-ceramic-daytona-ey kinda look. Anyone with insider info? ...

I am not a fan either. Zenith made good time peaces. I considered a few, but never bought any. Daytonas only a longtime ago, let’s say 2001. The other players are strong, and i do not follow trends, so i end up with interesting movements, rare birds, and ...

My AD before Xmas told me Zenith would be releasing a watch on Jan 25th to compete with the Rolex Daytona head to head - internally they call it “the Daytona killer I think”...

Curious to see the final product. Also curious to see what will they have decided in its chronometry if they wish to take the Daytona head-on. From my limited experience, the el primero movement is not as well regulated as the Rolex 4130

As a chronometry-focused kindred of yours, I share the same concern.

IMHO, when watches are launched to compete with something, as opposed to being a brainchild of pure design genius, they don’t always succeed. However, I have been proven wrong (e.g. nautilus after Royal oak etc).

I am huge fan of zenith

This looks promising but I hope it doesn’t come with the date and under 40mm

As much as I like the idea of Daytona competition....

That's a tall order. Especially with a ceramic bezel, you're tip toeing on homage territory. Zenith has quite a few El Primero SKUs as it is. I am sure it will be attractive, I am sure it will be robust, but it will not be a "Daytona Killer", and I am not...

Promising.....

Looks sharp. I think Zenith is clever enough not to try to compete with the daytona. And they’re on a roll with the revival, so this piece wil have some subtle hints from the past. Grtz,Dom

It's live on their site

Looks quite good to me, nicely proportioned. I'm a Zenith fan and my first two 'real' watches were Zeniths so I do constantly root for them, there have been some errors of judgement design wise at times but the feel rock solid over the last couple of year...

Thanks for sharing the photo.

It’s still showing 5 hours of countdown on the website for me. Any specifics about how it’s different, other than having a bracelet and ceramic bezel?

Brief description:
