The verdict "Best Wristshot" of this week's "Play it by the books" theme
Jun 28, 2020,09:43 AM
Apart from the number of watch books that were shown during this theme, a must have for a watch lover, the novels that were shown were quite interesting to see.
I am myself not a frequent reader of novels, to my shame, but I knew of a few of them.
My personal favourites is "1984", novel and film.
In my view the essence, next to a few more core aspects of the narrative, are Winston's reflections about friendship and humanity, at the end of the story.
I myself was also hiding things in my early childhood, like the protagonist Winston Smith was hiding his diary in the wall, behind a loose, removeable brick.
A loose, removeable brick was also what I tried to prepare myself.
When I read about this, I was quite touched and connected by and to the book.
Decades later and wiser in terms of human behaviour I watched the movie again and find so many of my own observations in it.
Back to the theme with some honourable mentionings first:
Brandon Skinner's nice family shot
I also liked to read " The catcher in the rye" in English, at school here in Germany in my English class.
.
Another mentioning goes to J Poro's Alessi Watch
Alessi I am familiar with ... Aldo Rossi not really.
Thank you for this educational post!
Now to the winning shot.
Tim Jackson's Lang & Heyne George:
highly tasteful watch and an equally tasteful compisition of the picture!
Thank you all who took part and a good Sunday evening to all here.
