Wrist Scan for February Friday 7th is Open Now! Theme "The Last and the First"

Feb 07, 2020,04:31 AM

Hello dear friends!

I have the pleasure of hosting this edition of our classic contest: Wrist Scan.

As previously announced the challenge this week end is to share the Last addition to your collections of past Year 2019 (no matter if you got it in December or in any previous month)  and...  the First addition of present 2020 (if you have already sinned during the first 38 days of 2020 of course! Lol!!)

(If you have not made any purchase during 2019 or 2020, you may participate with your last addition to your collection whichever the year of purchase and tell us about your next piece in your wish list.)

In my personal case two watches arrived during December 2019: an Speedmaster 105.012-65 from 1967 and a Timex "Q".

In 2020 my first "sinn" of the year arrived just when January was ending: A vintage Date Just reference 16013 from 1986 with a rare "Boiler Gauge" dial whose original light ivory dial had turned a charming darker cream color.

So, the Contest is Open Now and all our members are cordially invited to participate posting their shots and comments in this same thread.

As usual you may participate in any of the three categories or in all of them:

Best Wrist Scan shot

Best Static shot

Best Watch of the Week (to be awarded among the watches submited along next week end)

Look forward to your enthusiastic participation to make this another great and full of enjoyment edition of our Wrist Scan!

Have a Great Week end!!

Reference 105.012-65 from 1967

Date Just 16013 from 1986 Boiler Gauge dial

Your superb run of hunting the coolest OMEGA vintage watches, continues! Whatever the extracts says... the 2214 is a superb catch!

Two cool catches to end 2019 dear Art!! The 3635 Marine is specially interesting for its construction design. The 2214 very beautiful in its military vibes. Great catches my friend!

Have a nice week end. Down here suffering our very Hot Summer this year! And controlling the Apollo 11 Speedy as well! Lol! Cheers! Abel

Did you steal that first one in New York?!?!

 By: TheMadDruid : February 8th, 2020-06:33
Both nice, but the Marine is too cool!

That grey Marine 3637 with white dial script . . .

 By: Dr No : February 8th, 2020-07:55
. . . would be a perfect stablemate for my white 3635 in black print. Unfortunately, there are too many other balls I'm juggling at the moment, starting with the Stones 2020 tour. ;-(

I don't have that problem.

But you’re right - with the pulsometric scale and deadbeat seconds 😉 And yes, it’s the Gagarin reissue 👍🏻

I have seen watches/chronos with pulsometric scales are usually referred as "Doctor´s watches" but of course it is a name coined by collectors. This is a very special timepiece...
