Wrist Scan Favorite Films and Scenes . . .
Mar 17, 2023,17:05 PM
. . . is live! Let's share some of our favorites along with the watch currently on our wrist.
As noted earlier, my favorite scene from any film is when Hardy Kruger acknowledges he's only a model airplane designer in Flight of the Phoenix. An outstanding movie that reveals layers of brilliant film-making by director Robert Aldrich on repeated viewing; his ability to develop characters is uncanny. Jimmy Stewart's and Richard Attenborough's reaction to Kruger's admission is so realistic that disbelief is suspended, making it an especially compelling scene.
Who can forget the first time they saw this?
I was in a cold sweat at first, then emotionally drained and recharged. The Deer Hunter was so overwhelmingly powerful that I saw it four times within three months during its initial release in 1978.
Can't get enough of this scene from Shane.
Or this one from Hombre.
Or these . . .
. . . from JFK.
I still think Alec Guinness is the best actor ever.
I could watch any film with James Mason.
Or Peter O'Toole.
Or, amazingly enough, Eugene Pallette.
