... the right balance of mechanical coldness and romance, unusual in a Lange to my eyes, where the Teutonic perfection often predominates. Not sure what I think about "Tourbillon" written on the dial, when it is pretty obvious. At least there isn't an arrow pointing to the escapement, which I can think of on more than one watch (is Nataf rolling in his grave?). I guess you can argue the same thing about the dial of the F.P.Journe DS Tourby, but there the writing around the dial just provided a frame. And it seems more exotic when written in French! On the Lange I can see how they are using the writing to balance the subdials, so it's easy to forgive. Great photos, Ken, and your friend is very lucky to own such a wonderful piece.
