... all the work, time and dead ends you had to confront have no comparison. I was very happy to finally capture your SM and be able to deliver it to you.

Now about the other Keepers you share: All have awesome stories behind and that make them so special. To make a 24 hs roundtrip drive to get it talks about passion and the fire which moves a collector to do some crazy things to get his hunt done. Surely a Keeper!

The beautiful black honey comb dial Connie: Born with ten days difference! That´s much more than the usual "watch of my birth year" search all collectors wish to find. Fantastic Keeper for life!

The Tiffany Grace K. That´s a dream come true. A Keeper!

The Leo Seamaster: Gosh! Guess this watch has the most fantastic story I ever read around a timepiece and a collector. That was a true CCC: "crazy cosmos coincidence" which you were a protagonist. What a Keeper!!

Fantastic watches which I wish you´ll keep treasuring and enjoying so much my dear friend Art!

Have a nice and safe week end my dear friend and receive a big hug from me. Abel

Once I saw the 5164 I was smitten. Great symmetry, sporty, casual, comfortable, under-the-radar, and still nice enough to wear with a suit. But the main attraction was the intuitive Travel Time function. I had a Rolex GMT at the time, but the Aquanaut Tra...

Hello dear Bill! How nice story you share behind your superb Aquanaut 5164! I´m happy to read it and specially its happy end when you finally got this beautiful and practical timepiece.

Born at some point in Rome in the sixties, it became mine in the late eighties. My everyday watch until 1993, at school, hiking, diving... After getting wet whilst diving in Italy, it never fully recovered. With all its service parts and stories to tell, ...

Exactly!

Hello dear Mary Anny, thank you so much for sharing your 5513 in this stunning shot. Regret you had this bad experience with your watch. I never heard comments saying that Submariners...

... are unreliable diving watches and my own experience with my several ones tells they are very reliable and tough. This is not to deny that a Submariner or any other watch can fail. As you know most problems with flooding watches is due to failure in O ...

Well, at least in Italy Rolex dive watches have always had plenty of opponents, particularly among divers using Japanese watches, especially in the eighties and the nineties when literally everybody started to dive with Citizen and Rolex dive watches begu...

Hello Simone. Thank you for your comments. Agree with you about diving watches both quartz and mechanics. The need to change batteries periodically makes natural to also check...

... gaskets and test the timepiece for waterproofness after the change. We (I include myself) tend to forget to check or test our mechanic dive watches for many years sometimes imagining that waterproofness is forever guaranteed in high end watches. That´...

I like your 1680 very much!

The old warrior has been forbidden to dive by the watchmaker so it now lives the life of a retired old man getting out for special occasions only. I own a stand-in watch, a Black Bay 58 that I use every day and for diving with me. Thanks for your comments...

Hello again dear Simone. Thank you for your kind compliments. As an old workhorse these watches arrive to an age and a sentimental value which requires their retirement- I also retired ...

... my old 1680 as it is too valuable to me for sentimental reasons to risk it in the water though it works perfect and passed its last waterproof check a few years ago. I also got several diving watches which can replace it easily and without any concern...

El placer es mío.

Always collect watches to keep

 By: Weems@8 : February 14th, 2021-05:53
Selling is never an option for me. Buying at special places, a new watch immediately falls part in the emotional category. I buy to want something, not to sell a couple of years later. Not enough money for a watch is no reason to sell some of my watches. ...

Interesting answer dear Weems!
