Thanks also from my side for everyone posting.
So it's my first job as a judge here, so please...bear with me.
Here my assessments-
3rd place- I know that this forum has an emphasize on high-end brands and watches. However, for me, brands that are not so much considered nowadays as high-end, but from a historic perspective, their contribution is undeniable, should also be properly acknowledged, at the appropriate opportunity.
In this case, we are talking about Longines, a brand with plenty of hallmarks over the history since it was established.
Here, I like very much the Lindberg pilot watch photo by Massimiliano from February, the 28th.
2nd place-
I have a soft spot for Blancpain.
It's not only one of the brands with longest history. Bur for me, it's also the name that actually is responsible for the renaissance of the whole art of mechanical watchmaking.
I think without the magic done by Mr Biver in the last 1980s with Blancpain, today, we would all conclude quartz era and looking forward to smart watches, while mechanical watches would be a memory long left behind.
Therefore, Blancpain vintage watches, with a great emphasis on the diver FF line, simply represent to me the brand as it was before the modern era.
In this particular case, I liked very much the Tornek-Rayville (non-wrist photo) by Nicolas from February the 28th.
1st place-
I like well-balanced and not over crowded dials.
A nice calendar watch will do the job for me.
I am not a PP expert, however, the photos by Mike H with his PP in yellow gold (Ref 3348?) with the full moon (from March the 1st) is simply classical and beautifully captured.
For me, the 4th photo showing so nicely the glory of this dial (enameled?) is just doing the job.
Congrats,
Y
