Static (non-wrist) Shot Awards
Mar 08, 2020,08:32 AM
I was lucky in my judging assignment this week, as the nature of the challenge resulted in lots and lots of photos, mainly wrist shots, of beautiful watches obviously prized by their owners. I chose 3 to present.
Actually 4 of them got pulled out of the stream and landed on my desktop as I thought "this might be the one" but ultimately another photo pushed it aside.
At the very last minute I came to my senses and realized one of my four finalists was on a wrist!
(what was I thinking?)
Here are the two runners-up.
Nico's shell game has the combination of soft beige colors. textures and curves. (if only Brigitte Bardot in her youth were holding these shells and watch in her two hands and presenting them to us!)
This surpasses all his previous entries on metal surfaces, coins, corks, nuts, etc.
Next is one of the very first entries: the double-soon-to-be-triple set of NT931. I only detract a minor point because the second hands are 11 seconds off in agreement (yes, judges have to be ridiculously detail-oriented)
The STATIC WINNER this week - the watch photo that made me stop in my tracks and say WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? WOW! jleno's Grossmann
I particularly like the Germany dead center in the bottom of the image (although the second hand...) Final eye candy for y'all is the back showing the movement.
Congratulations to all of you and thanks for making my job so enjoyable and so difficult!
