but just wanted to share how you guys triggered me to remember something.)
With all this talk of Omega and your wonderful stories it reminded me of a piece I picked up around 4 years ago...โฆ..then forgot completely :O
I was on the lookout for a Rattrapante but not just any, a special Italian market blue dial, it looked like an X-33 (their cases nearly identical) and for a time, many people were on the waiting list for this piece but Omega kept postponing the release, they had planned a new movement that would have been revolutionary at the time of introduction, it wasn't to be the case and the Valjoux 7750 (Omega Caliber 3600) stepped up to fill the void till everything was fixed, many customers ended up cancelling their orders and the Rattrapante faded into time. Still the only automatic chronometer for Omega at the time a little gem.
Finding it was the "simple" part, it took 2 years to track one that I liked and then pulled the trigger, what comes after was what killed me. It arrived after a delay in shipping. I was so happy I went to put it on my wrist and saw that it was too small (it killed the circulation in my wrist :O ). After trying to change the links, I had no luck at all, the tool would slip (don't worry the timepiece was well protected, heart attacks need not occur). Finally after a month day by day trying to change it, I put it back in the box and forgot about it!
Until 4 years later when some members of a forum that shall remain unnamed
reminded me of it....down to my workshop and 10 minutes later the links were changed and bracelet fit like a charm....time to share a photo, still the watch is very shy so you'll have to excuse the shadows. Thanks WatchProSite family you guys are some heavy enablers for this hobby !!!
