Now, this is a treat . . .

. . . and a half. To have a member of our wristwatch community share video clips of himself playing bass is simply beyond my wildest expectations. Thank you, Boris - that was most kind and quite special.
Jones is at the top of the heap for many. (Sad to say I never saw him perform live . . . had a deposit on tickets for Zep's 1980 tour which was terminated by his death.) My favorite bassist of all is . . .
. . . Chas Chandler. Why, you ask. Because his bass was the signature of his band's sound.
No other bassist can claim that distinction. I've no idea how he rates in terms of ability, but as far as I'm concerned, he was The Animals. With all due respect to Eric and the rest of the band, they wouldn't have been the same without him. And unlike Jonesy, I had the pleasure of seeing Chas perform once in Los Angeles. Here's a clip from the 1983 tour:
I've seen the Stones forty times, and forty other bands at least once, but of all the shows under my belt, it was The Animals reunion tour of '83 that was most memorable.
You knew . . .
. . . this was coming.
RIP, Chas. And now Hilton, too. I'm so grateful I was able to experience the magic of your music.
