NEVER say NEVER... I have learned that too... sometimes for the good sometimes for the opposite...

During many years of watch collecting I have learned sometimes the hard way NEVER to say NEVER….
Probably because I am too passionate I have sometimes put myself in a difficult situation on my own.
I remember very well the day that Patek Philippe Geneva had given me the green light for swaping the hands of my 3970J for leaf hands instead of the original baton ones I was so happy that I promised myself NEVER to sell that watch, my grail and dream for long that was now becoming so special thanks to these leaf hands on a later generation dial…
And few years later I had to let it go because I had pushed the ball too far and I was financially in a difficult situation.
Another one that I would NEVER let go is the gorgeous 5070 G that the Vlad had put into my mind… I was so happy and proud to get it that this time I was sure of myself it would NEVER go !...
Until I decide to make another dream come true and I had no other choice but to let it go sadly for financing my incoming Grail
Indeed after having acquired the rare 5125 R LE for Wempe anniversary...
… I had decided to pull the trigger for the real thing that had inspired the dial design of the 5125, I am talking about the Wonder Watch that had been my absolute dream, the Watch that I thought I could NEVER get but one day an opportunity came to me and I could make the dream come true with this 3448…
Life goes on and brings suprises…
Sometimes not the best ones when I had to let go most of my manual wound watches due to changes in my life. My KV grail had to go in spite of its incredible beauty, the one that I thought would also NEVER go had to leave the stable…
Thank God another gorgeous blue dial with stunning micro-rotor automatic movement could stay ; the LF Galet Square is a keeper that I think will most probably NEVER go (did you notice how careful I become saying it now
)
I'll finish with 2 ones that have almost an identical story : after having had great Daytonas with a 6240 and a 16520 Patrizzi that I stupidly let go also, I decided that I would NEVER do this mistake again and decided to get back in my collection these 2 timeless chronographs :
the 6263 Big Red Floating cream dial
and another nice 16520 Patrizzi
When reading this you will think I am totally crazy and unconsistent ; you are probaby right I was. But I have changed and I am now much more mature and sure of my taste I shall NEVER do these mistakes again HAHAHA ! Oooops sorry NEVER say NEVER !!!
Cheers,
Mike
