My soul watch would be . . .

. . . Black Connie.
I first saw Black Connie on TimeZone when Phil C (whose log-in is Hockey) owned her. Here's his photo posted 17+ years ago.
I sat staring at this image for minutes on end. Imagine my state of mind when seeing a WTB from Phil on TZ for a Mk II. I had one, and offered to trade for Black Connie.
He considered the proposition for a few moments, but declined, essentially because even though the two were roughly equal in monetary terms, engraved black dial ref 2852 Connies decked in rose gold are extremely rare. I've seen only two others* in all my years of following Omega.
Not six months later Phil and Bill Sohne, our first Omega forum moderator, exchanged a few watches, so Black Connie now belonged to him. He posted it here, I contacted him, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Oh, and the kicker? She's exactly ten days older than me, released in West Germany on a day in September, 1957. We came into this world together, and that's how we're going out - as soul mates.

* I've also seen a few steel ref 2652 Connies with the same build sheet; both references are exceedingly rare.
