Tom, yes you have good memory. i read and learnt from the Chronometer Wristwatch book which said that both cal.70.1 and cal.70.3 were made for the chronometer line.
i am out of town, maybe i will post some pics of the movement and also the caseback which the latter shows the "chronometer" word on it after returning home later.

I've been to the AD and have tried it on for size on more than one occasion...at this point of time, I have gotten feedback that I might as well have a clock strapped to my wrist :-D No giving up though....and will keep trying!

I've always stayed away from Rolex...too common and boring, was my take, but have always like the Explorer II and this...so it is my favorite current Rolex too I've also changed my mind about them now that I've seen for myself the quality of their pieces....
