Moses wandered Sinai for forty years drinking . . .

. . . (presumably) water. I spent the first forty years of my adult life drinking beer.
Especially red ales. There were times when a pitcher of Jamaica Red was all I had - or needed - for dinner. No joke.
Then, old age and disease caught up with me. Afflicted with gout since '94, and progressively worse. Finally, it got to the point this summer where I had to either start taking daily meds, or give up beer altogether.
Took the sorrowful road June 24th. Only a sip or three since.
Last weekend, SWMBO and yours truly spent Sunday afternoon in Newport Beach. We chose an Italian restaurant for early supper.
She would normally have asked for a glass of merlot but ordered a bottle of Moretti La Rosa instead, which she graciously shared.
Four or so ounces of pure beer bliss . . . ahhhh!
;-)
