Magnum’s Rolex

Mar 17, 2023,18:55 PM

Good evening Dr No.
Like many of a certain age, a favourite bit of escapism as a teenager was Magnum PI. In “Home From the Sea” our hero is knocked of his surf ski and ends up having to tread water for a whole episode!

The watch on his wrist however GOT my attention. Now as a young teenager I had never even heard of a Rolex watch, let alone a waterproof fancy coloured extra hand thingy..

I became seduced by the Crown.

Still am I suppose..

Shaped watches are a hallmark of a gentleman 😁

 By: KMII : March 20th, 2023-15:32
Not that there’s anything wrong with a round watch 😉

Hello Thomas! A nice Tag/Heuer you choose for your weekend. The film you choose is a classic as its previous version with Steve Mc Queen and Faye Dunaway.

 By: Subexplorer : March 18th, 2023-16:15
Both films are favorite of mine too, though I have an special fondness for the first version though Brosnan played it so well. Hagwe, Abel

Good choice …

The Thomas Crown Affair With Pierce Brosnan was very good.

Yes, if it is on I will watch it, don't quite know

what it is about that movie for me. I have it on disc and used to take it to the office and play it in the background while working once in a while.
